No Victors

No victors in mankind's field of battle-
Only tears and blood stained ground.
Each side buried in sorrow-
A father
A son
A mother
A daughter.
Each human listed in the book
of
humanities lament.
A lament
of
“Please remember me dear Father.”
The blood filled ground does sigh
as the last breath is heard.
Nay!
We have no victors.
Only tears.
