A month or so ago as my family and I were driving down the highway, I looked across some open fields and saw a line of trees. At that moment, to my eyes I thought of the trees as brocoli florets. This is how the poem emerged. As I began to write, I didn't know the poem would be about Him, but as with all things that belong to Him, he claimed it. A Giant’s Garden The earth, a giant’s garden Its rain falls from a can, Mountains are like mole’s hills, Orchards are his jam The oceans merely puddles Atop his garden’s ground And we, but little ants From not, heard a sound Valleys, deep, but earthy cracks With care, trod ‘neath his feet And trees, sweet, green florets, May he choose to eat And in the giant’s garden, As tiny creatures, we, Live by his guiding hands Though him we never see 2 Corinthians 5:7 “Walk by faith, not by sight.” |

Janie: How beautifully you use the analogy of His wonders to praise Him and inspire all of us. Lovely poem and written with flowing bliss. ellie Summers haunting melody that awakens the butterflies, calling them to join the dance in their silent song of praise to God. eL |

Janie, Wonderful~Everyone before me has said it, the analogy is so true to life~He is so big and we, so small. Loved this. Marcy |

Bravo! I especially liked the line that refered to the "orchards" as his "jam". That was jam to my poetic taste-buds! thanks for sharing this. |
