Brilliant scarlet, burnished gold, Trees ablaze in tangerine, Hillsides awash in autumns shades, Simply waiting to be seen. Perched amid trees across the way, Is a church with a new coat of white, Its steeple standing proudly, Its cross reflecting soft light. Picture postcard perfect, Created by Your hand, A gift You give so freely, To help us understand; That as the flowers begin to wilt, You'll erase the brown and the gray, You'll fill our lives with color, Framed in an autumn's day. And as the leaves come tumbling down, In bright yellows, reds and greens, We'll feel Your presence everywhere, In this most magnificent scene. |

 I agree, this should be a greeting card. The poem flows so beautifully and the descriptive phrases bring so many autumn pictures to mind... I can just see that newly painted church surrounded in a mix of Fall colors. I just want to go jump into a pile of those leaves... God Bless You, Bob <>< |
