I don't know how it would have been To never have known God. My pathway would be rougher, This long one I have trod. They've taken Him from out the schools, But I still remember the day, If I had a hard test to take, I would bow my head and pray. He always carried me right through. How could it be called by chance. I didn't pray to Mister Luck My memory to enhance. God does not keep all pain away. We all will have our share. That doesn't mean He's not with you Or that he doesn't care. God has effect on all my life. I've never had cause to doubt Him. With me through the early years. I have never been without him. So you've given me a challenge, Some specifics to recall. If God did not affect my life, I would have no life at all. By Joyce 3/30/01 |

Joyce; what a beautiful reply to the challenge! I so join you in saying that I too, would have no life at all without Him. A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails. |

These words are so true. We wouldn't be here if it wasn't for Him, even though some of us didn't "know" Him all our life, but I sure can't imagine it without Him now. ![]() Thanks for joining the challenge. |

A wonderful read. I'm happy you found Him early and kept Him near for all the years. Melton |

Joyce, You've incorporated some important lessons in this. 1) Prayer is never to luck, 2) God allows trials in our lives 3) He often doesn't remove the trials but leads us through them. I've heard people ask me what good it does me to believe, when I'm faced with the same trials as the nonbeliever. Thank you, Rae |

Well done, I must say! The rhyme scheme was magnificent, and you went with it in a truly proffessional manner. The part about the schools made me think back on a day when I was sent to the office for refusing to recite the Lord's prayer.... I personally think that it's an uncomfortable position to keep prayer in public schools, for there are children who really feel out-of-place for their different beliefs. Just a personal opinion, no need for debate. Aside from that memory, I did truly enjoy this poem. Your choice of words in the last stanza was a great way to end it off. ![]() ~Allan |

Joyce, So true if God did not have an affect on my life...... I would not have a life at all. Huh? No prayer in school? I've returned to college and I must say there is prayer in school at least in my case...... I'm still praying especially before Mid-terms. Prayer does work for me. Bob <>< |
