The sky turned a crestfallen dark,
from the sixth to the ninth hour mark.
And the son of God cried.
When the son of man died,
A new light came caressing the ark

which had been unto Adam long sealed.
The mercy seat's gold was revealed
unto sinners and all
who would heed the great call
that resounded as Earth quaked and reeled.
