God must have had a lot of fun When creation was begun. As He designed each living form, Each seed and tuber, root and corm, Envisioning what it would be, From lichens to a giant tree. What joy to make the birds in air. Then watch them soar and flutter there, In colored feathers, every hue And some with special features too, Like irridescence, fans that fold, Glitter, plumes and flash of gold. The animals were sheer delight. Presenting such a diverse sight. With here a horn and there a spur. Sporting different kinds of fur. Some in stripes and some with manes. From the mountains to the plains, Each one has it's special worth And serves a purpose on the earth. The sea-life is perhaps most rare. Many millions teeming there. In shapes surprising, stunning too. What would we who live here do, Without the treasures of the sea? What a strange life it would be. When making mankkind, did he smile To think that in a little while, We'd fill the world with billions strong, Still struggling with right and wrong. Really does make one wonder if God cries seeing all the majesty He created taken for granted and being abused. This poem, like all of yours, is lovely. Thank you. Rae |

This is lovely Betty. I am sure God had lots of fun as well as imagination in making all of the different forms. Joyce |

Wonderful Betty. So much fun to think of Him fashioning the earth and its inhabitants. A joy He had indeed and still does when a new one grows from precious seed. |

I'd publish this too, if I had the chance. ![]() However there are a few lines that defied the otherwise perfect meter, in my opinion. Next time you write something in this style, try to assure yourself that every line has enough of the right kinds of syllables. ![]() Don't get me wrong, I thought this poem was magnificent. ~Allan Build a man a fire, and he's warm for a day. Set a man on fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of his life. |

sandgrain, Joyce and VAS: Thanks to each of you for taking time to read and make nice comments. Allan: Which lines are you referring to? I'd like to know. Thanks. Betty Lou Hebert |

Splenderific poem! I'm sure He laughs, and then cries, bet He even wonders why. (sometimes) Great writing Betty! |

Well there were a few lines that were not written in Iambic Tetrameter, and those ones kind of threw off the flow for me. That's just a personal opinion of course. ![]() Iambic Tetrameter is just like Iambic Pentameter, only with four Iambic feet. You did it in most of the poem, I felt that it could have been drawn out into the rest as well. As I said, please don't get me wrong, I really enjoyed this poem, it was merely a suggestion. ![]() ~Allan Build a man a fire, and he's warm for a day. Set a man on fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of his life. |

Wonderful poem. Thanks for sharing a few of the wonders of GOD. I believe he has a reason for all of the diversity, but I can only wonder why. Melton |
