If I could actually write you a song
I hope all the words would belong
would the timing be just right
would its very flow cause you delight
are my words ever enough for you
or is there more that I must do
matchless worth how can I express
even the shadow of your holiness
words fall short every moment
yet I give them to you without relent
as the days pass and fade to night
your beauty is engulfed in brilliant light
you are true and just
in you my heart will trust
who can every compare to your glory
the author of my lifes story
the creator of the heavens and the earth
the God of creation who gave mankind birth

If I could actually write you a song
would my motives be right or just be wrong
could I express my true love for you
or would my flesh begin to come through
would my actions speak louder than my word
or would all I say be struck down with the sword
if I could write you a psalm of praise
would the angels sing it as there voices raise
Your name glorified throughout all creation
giving each individual a deeper revelation
Christ is King
He is Lord
So let the praise ring
all the saints in one accord
