Gifted, the Man Gifted with words the man, so professed that turning came easy, each syllable stressed. Confirmed all in anger, no tenderness deemed. Screaming and shouting his own self-esteem. Realizing never the meaning behind, never considering the cost of unkind. In his own eyes, he's righteous without sin or guilt. Gifted, the man and the life he has built. (been reading the Bible lately, trying to find peace and reasoning in my life) Proverbs 3:3 Let not mercy and truth forsake thee; bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart. 21:2 Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the LORD pondereth the hearts 15:1 A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger. Thank you Noah Trillium, thank you. I really don't fit in here but I felt this poem belongs in this forum, since I was using Proverbs for the meaning behind my words. There are many emotions that should be held private for only God to know of but sometimes the need arises to challenge that belief when all other communication is lost. Thank you for the read. Daniel...thank you for giving me a smile I have tried many "things" in my life to return the happiness I have lost. Always when it seems at hand, something happens to leave me empty again. I felt many times that my quiet talks to G*D did not seem to be helping me..you know that saying, He doesn't give you more than you can handle..sometimes I think I am overloaded and I get distracted and I draw the wrong people to me who probably are in more need than I. So I give them pieces of me, sharing my heart, my time, my wants and desires..only to find out they can't accept me and what I have to offer and can't return the warmth (even though they are drawn to me for who I am) So I have been reading, mostly when trying to relax, to see if I can understand why this is happening at a time in my life when a little bit of kindness would go a long way for me. It took me a long while yesterday to find the proverbs that meant something to me...one: that the truth may hurt a bit but I would rather have truth than lies two: that many see themselves as always right(well not me...I am a compromiser) but when they do that and then three: use a raised voice to answer, when a soft one would still make the point... it causes unnecessary hurt. I needed to prove something to myself, that I know right from wrong, good from bad, can give forgiveness and accept the same when offered...that I am an ok person. These are only words, meant to calm my hurt within. Not sure you can understand...but that's the best I can do. I am not a religious scholar, so I may not understand and respond too much without having to read up a little. *s thank you, again Maureen [This message has been edited by nakdthoughts (03-03-2002 04:04 PM).] |

Maureen, you write beautifully, here, as you share and shine your truthful words from deep within your soul. And I want you to know that we will always love you, regardless of anything you ever think, say or do in deeds. You are very precious to God and us and all God wants from you is just for you to love Him and accept Him in simple child like love. And you will find that as we love God, we also try to love you, too. We seek His Way by reading Scripture and talking with Him in simple prayer, just as we would talk to a child or kitten or bird. Just honestly. And He always hears us whenever we are sincere! And often we will seek to find a compatible church where other people believe in God's Love the way we do. It is always helpful to make Christian friends to fellowship with. That doesn't mean that we must follow rigid rules of doctrine. Just stay filled with love and let time teach you how God is calling you. God's Spirit of Love, His Son, The Christ, was sent to us as a flesh man to help us learn this Spirit of Forgiveness we all seek. He teaches Love and sets an example of loving and forgiving others, people like us who hurt and killed him for no reason. Because man could not understand the simple connection between love, forgiveness and release of hurt feelings. And made and followed strict rules based on bondage, not love. And so to protect their old rules they killed Christ. But God had a plan to trade pain for love. And so God took all of the pain through Christ and gave all of us Love in return. And this is the lesson that I try to follow. This is why that I invited you to give me all of your pain for all of my Love. So you are welcome, here, Maureen. You are very loved here! And I invite you to keep reading your Bible, praying and coming back here for friendship. And I am always here for you. I love you, Maureen.
