This was inspired by "Enters Mercy and Grace" by Blooming Rose (Thank you for this beautiful poem). I took another turn using this same intriguing passage of scripture. Of Fallen Stones They were cruel in their gazes as they volleyed her along the streets, this irreligious "sinner" girl they caught to flout and shame. And though they didn't love her (for they only praised and loved themselves) her fall was not their choicer lust. Their hearts despised another 's name. For in their high self righteousness they claimed to hold the judgment seat. Hadn't Moses given to their fathers Yahweh's laws? Were they not the sons indeed of Abraham, God's honored friend? And were they not inscrutable in deed and consecrated cause? But here was one emerging, speaking claims of higher status proclaiming he's Messiah or at least implying so. But who is he to upbraid centuries of sound traditions set in place by God, thus making Israel his bitter foe? Their calculated doctrines seemed pristine and very much in line. They had the rabbis' parchments to confirm their flinty views. But being God's main players on Earth's stage as they attested, how sadly they were failing him and missing all his cues. But perhaps they were in some odd way performing perfect roles falling into parts that they were destined to fulfill. For they had lifted jagged stones that mirrored what lay in their hearts ready to do murder though God taught them "You shall never kill". Their murder wasn't aimed at this poor woman who had soiled her past by living in the lifestyle sins she hated deep inside. Could this be why their stones all fell away, disarming one by one. Such ammo would be saved for him they hated in their hardened pride. And someday soon at Calvary their little stones would seem to win. For rocks in angered children's hands will certainly be thrown. Thinking they'd destroyed his right, they judged the righteous judge of all. And yet his rock would never fail. They only cast away their own. The stone the builders tossed aside became the very corner. And such is why this happening is marveled in our eyes, This Rock of Christ is firm for all who kneel to him in trusting faith. He'll wash away their sins and shame and deeply love what some despise. So if you've stained your innoncence and fallen to the circling wolves, look to him, this holy stone which beams with grace and truth. Much like the ones which men have hurled, he too may swiftly fall on you but never to condemn you in the follies of your youth. "Where are your accusers?" he will ask you in the midst of grief. But as you look, their fallen stones are all that you will see. He'll teach you "Go and sin no more" with counsel of a Father's voice. And you will worship him and say "This fallen stone has set me free". 9/20/2000 [This message has been edited by Stephanos (edited 09-20-2000).] |

Oh by the way I forgot to mention that the scripture which this is based on is John chapter 8, verses 1-11, in case anyone wanted to read it. What an amazing scripture this is to me. How perfectly it portrays the mercy and love of God. |

This has spoken volumes of truth! I applause you!!! A lot to think over here, and ultimately left to God... So many things whirling through my mind now, I'll be surprised if this makes any sense LOL. Funny how the traditions of man crept in, and when the truth was preached, the very religious community denied their Lord and Savior. So much going through my mind, I must go and think on this one. ![]() Great job! |
