I Have a Friend Virginia Salter I have a friend who stands in a pit of vipers and I so far from even the edge cannot begin to reach out to offer rescue while even wondering if I could would my fear be overcome by my desire to help if I were given to proximity I confirm to self “Yes!” I would reach out seeking to comfort seeking to be there all so easy to believe standing here, so distant with only the ability to pray with my whole heart that her faith, the only thing between her and collapse from all the bites of her predators, will keep her whole will keep her sane will keep her strong to withstand the pain... I have another Friend as does she who stands in the gap for her, for me relentlessly ©April 29, 2000 |

Reaching out in prayer for a friend is one of the greatest things you can do. Prayer, it is not the least we can do for a person, but the most! So you are reaching out, and you are helping, by asking God to take over and watch her. And that's one wonderful friend!! <*\\\>< |

It is so hard to see a friend in dire circumstances. Sometimes, prayer is our only way of helping and of course, that is most important, but we always wish we could do something more tangible. I do hope things work out well for your friend. Betty Lou Hebert |
